Aquaman, Volume 1: The Drowning (Rebirth) by Dan Abnett

4.0

I picked this up after wanting to read Mera: Queen of Atlantis also by Dan Abnett. The timeline occurs after the Geoff Johns run. Once again, Arthur is trying to stop the US and Atlantis for destroying one another. It made sense that he would want to built an embassy to build the two worlds.

But as luck would have it, Black Manta and the Deluge won't allow him to succeed.

I liked how Mera supports him whole heartedly and wonder how they got to this level of a connection. Arthur, you should just marry the lady! she is very loyal and wise.

He struggles with how the surface world sees him as the joke and side kick to the Justice League. The guy is balancing alot on his plate. Give him a break!

The art was all over the place. At times, it was great but others was just meh or nah. I am still interested to read the next volume.
