This book brought me back to my childhood and I loved every minute of it.
Except when a dragon burnt a poor baby goat to a crisp and ate him. That’s ripped my heart out. I was so sad that Mal and Christopher didn’t end up together at the end. I hoped she would return before the story ended. I also wished we knew what she was referring to when she said whispered in his ear. Maybe this was clear to other readers, maybe I just finished the book when I was so tired up too late trying to finish it.
Overall, this was a super cute story with the perfect balance of adventure, mystery, mythical creatures, and whimsy. I loved it!
