Gallant by V.E. Schwab

I do not agree with this being middle grade at all. It’s sinister and creepy - to an extent it did remind me of the Spiderwick chronicles but everything focusing around death and some of the descriptions really make me feel this should be a YA.
I appreciate I am absolutely not the target market so please take this with a grain of salt but I found Gallant harder to read than I would’ve liked as it didn’t grip my focus. That being said the imagery was beautiful in a gothic way and the concept of their being two Gallants felt like the multiple London’s in ADSOM.
