“Chaos is the only thing that makes me stop and stare. It’s a pause button to my brain.”
I was waiting for Cole's book right since the first book in the series. I knew he would be even better than Aiden and it's true!
As we get to know from the previous books in the series, Cole and his friends: Aiden, Xander & Ronan get kidnapped when they were kids and the incident had a huge mental imapct on each one of them. Since then Cole liked living his life surrounded by Chaos. He was cold, calculating, dark and depraved. Both him and Silver put a facade in front of the world but they were their true selves only when the both of them were alone together.
“Silver has an outside image and an inside one. They never overlap and she’s becoming an expert at juggling her two lives. One is Daddy’s little girl, her mother’s perfect daughter, and the top student, piano player, and classical music lover. The other is everything else. Like listening to rock music and eating Snickers bars in secret. The punches, too. That’s why I did everything to bring them out.”
In the first three books, I couldn't bring myself to hate Silver, I knew she would have a story of her own and I became more confident when she confronted Kimberly in the fourth book. She was so misunderstood. Her parents' divorce really wrecked her? It made her live two different lives. One was playing the doting daughter to her father and the other was to take care of her mother and live up to her expectations on being a proper lady. She put up the arrogant Queen bitch facade just to protect her friends.
"I hate you. Doesn't mean I can't fuck you"
Cole and Silver had so much history. Cole, his friends and Silver grew up together so they knew each other since their childhood. Only Cole and Silver had developed a beautiful bond that no one was aware of. I loved the parts where Cole and Silver would have conversations in the playground. That explained the dynamic of their relationship.
"Gentleman in public. Monster in private"
Both Cole and Silver's characters were layered and they shared sizzling chemistry. Cole was possessive and downright psychopathic. Silver and Cole both brought out their feelings for each other. This book was beautifully written with a HUGE PLOT TWIST. It was so interesting, I couldn't put it down even for a second. I cried, laughed (mostly because of Ronan and Xander's bickering lol!) and grieved throughout the whole book.
I'm so sad that this series is coming to an end but I'm also excited to read the upcoming epilogue for all the characters. Rina Kent gave her best to finish this series and Cole's book is my favourite of them all. I feel that Cole and Silver's story could have been more longer because I can't get enough of them.
U would recommend you to read this series from the very start. Each book has a charm of it's own. You will not regret it.
