Still in SHOCK at what I just read 😂
We sort of go back to the original oneshot adventure where Chih is out in the world exploring and learning some stories. In this story, Chih is accompanying the Phams as they head to Do Cao to marry off their daughter to the Lord there, however, something at Do Cao seems a bit off. Chih can't seem to put their finger on what's off though and constantly wish Almost Brilliant was there with them
While most stories are told, I felt like we actually lived through it this time, which is probably one of the reasons I liked it so much. It's also the first story where there's so much TENSION. I couldn't put it down until I learned what was happening. Not everything was resolved and I'm really curious if that thread with the young Lord will ever be picked up later. I'd love to learn about that part of the "magic" of this world
Also, I do like that they referenced the story of the scholar and the tiger in this story! I was like "I know that story!" Lol
