I loved the premise of this story and how we slowly got to learn more about the characters, their relationships, and the cafe. While each chapter focuses on a different relationship, the characters appeared in the others’ stories, and this weaving together was done well. Each chapter had an unexpected element, which kept the story interesting, and I was moved by the characters’ growth. Some of the writing/dialogue felt a little off, but I chalk it up to the difficulty of translating certain feelings and cultural elements from Japanese to English.
