Masked: Only His

—-ARC DISCLAIMER. I was provided this Ebook in return for a review for the author. My thoughts are true, and my own.
Okay. So.
Review for this one isn’t gonna be too great unfortunately.
2⭐️ ⭐️ and that’s generous, at best for me.
I wanted to like this; I really really did. The stars are for the plot and the character switch up at the end. The book is about a FMC Lyric, and X, the MMC. there is no morally grey here. Just dark and darker. Now, I am no stranger to a dark side of the moon traumance. In face, I enjoy them more often than not. But this just wasn’t it. I’m not sure if it was because of all of the spelling and grammar errors, or because of the continuity errors. It’s got a lot of okay ish and a lot of bad. Lyric starts off as a FMC who is gang r@pe0 by ten guys and a video of it is going around her college. No one believes her that it was not consensual and they’re just going in on her. To me this just isn’t something that worked for me. The “bullies” aren’t really bullying her, she is really sensitive, and then in comes X, a mystery man and “hero” of her day, who seems to become obsessed with her and wants to possess her and fix the wrongs of her past. He starts killing off everyone who even looks at her wrong. On live stream. Which to me isn’t even believable because any internet site would shut that shit down SO QUICKLY. There is a lot of messy shit that happens, and suddenly x and lyric are together in a room and he makes her drop her pants and he goes down on her. How is this different from the men who were abusive to her. How is him “owning her and her being his” make his behavior okay? How is her noncon ANY different from what the ten dudes did? And then there is the continuity error where she is living with Xander (who is kinda sketch?) and x is supposedly in Tehran. How is she living with him, but he’s in another country? Not to mention there is Spanish spoken but not translated (thank you kindle highlighter for translation) It doesn’t add up? He comes back, and then more stuff goes down and there’s a plot twist. I was excited for this one, and wanted to like this so badly. It just wasn’t written well, and wasn’t really the book I wanted it to be, so I ended up disappointed.
