The world building and magic system explanation was rather clumsy for me in the beginning, so I just stopped thinking at one point but the more I read the more I understood.
This book was easy to read, a lot of short chapters plus my copy had a really nice, big font 🥹🫶🏻
What I found lacking however, was Aya's relationship with Will. Considering they know each other since forever, they were very off. Even more so when I think of how, for example, Aya and Josie's friendship had a better chemistry.
I also would have loved to see some interlude-like chapters from other characters. I think this would have added a little something-something.
I found myself more invested than I expected. Excited to read the sequel!
