i’m gonna preface my review with that i was definitely in a reading slump while reading this book.
i listened to the first fourth of the book on spotify and honestly had a great time. i thought kazi and jases build up was eatinggg. she’s an assassin sort of thing (but not a cringe one) and hes suddenly a ruler after his fathers death. they are enemy’s and she wants to infiltrate his kingdom for evil ppl. one thing leads to another and they are chained together and have to make it to safety and slowly begin to gain feelings for one another. the book did unfortunately kinda fall off for me when kazi and jase made it to tors watch (where jase rules). the romance was suddenly just not as great and i felt like the author was over explaining things over and over again.
that being said the world is so cool. i love the how she described the settings i felt like i was in the book. the action scenes were so riveting. the ending of the book was also fun and extremely tense. the cliffhanger did in fact leave me wanting more. i would give 3.7 stars.
