Rust & Stardust by T. Greenwood
4.0

Something I didn’t know: This book was inspired by the kidnapping of Sally Horner back in the 1940s. She was abducted by Frank La Salle, a 50-year-old serial child molester.

After learning that this was inspired by a true story -though still partially fictional- this book took a whole other turn. Rust & Stardust was an emotional and such a heartbreaking read. I could feel Sally’s fear, sadness, and pain. And I could feel my own anger towards Frank and what he did to Sally.

This book shows just how innocent but precious children are. Not knowing what harmful things or people there are in the world. It’s heartbreaking how children are easily taken advantage of and this book, sadly, is proof.

The book itself was informative, gripping, and well-written. What Sally went through was brutal and for anyone who plans on reading this, please check the trigger warnings!!
