A good read! A management and leadership story with focus on the importance of engaging and empowering your personnel to optimize you organization within an already set strategy and often already given operational targets.
Michaels describes his journey taking lead of the USS Benhold and changing it's command climate into a more inclusive and open environment and in the process placing his ship as a top performer in the US navy.
I can relate to some of the critique the author has received for self boosting and bragging, but overall it is negligible as Michael delivers a good engaging story to exemplify the use of these good management behaviors and their positive effects.
The management techniques within are mentioned in many other leadership and management books, but here they are nicely collected and interwoven into a good story all can relate to.
