The Salt Roads by Nalo Hopkinson

Did not finish book. Stopped at 26%.
I can't do it.  I dread picking this up and I don't care enough about the story overall to force myself to push through.  I don't like slavery stories and I need to just accept that and move on.  Even with Jeanna, she is not happy and is living through the generosity of her lover (who depends on his mother, who depends on her husbands money)...the POV of the unborn child isn't compelling either.

I'm sure if I read slavery/black suffering stories I"d enjoy this but I simply can't.  It's killing my reading mojo and not in a good way.  This is a reluctant DNF because I wanted to love this but I have to be honest with myself.
