Raised by a Serial Killer: Discovering the Truth About My Father by April Balascio
Not rating as this is a memoir and the author's personal journey.
This book made me want to give Ms. Balascio the biggest hug ever.
April and her siblings lived a "normal" life, but her father was a psychopath and killer. April's story is gut wrenching and heart breaking and made me so angry at times.
Her father was Edward Wayne Edwards and he was a serial killer. April describes her traumatic and horrific upbringing and later in the book discusses how she was the one that actually turned her father into the police when she started putting things from her past together.
April's strength and her love for her family shines through in this story. She comes to understands that her father was responsible for many unsolved heinous crimes.
This book was hard to listen to at times, but I definitely recommend the audio because Balascio is the narrator. If you like true crime, I definitely think you will enjoy this story.
Thank you, @simon.audio and @libro.fm for the #gifted copy.
