I read ‘Nana’ years ago and the ability that Yazawa has to weave comedy and slice of life is truly amazing. She gets me laughing one moment, in tears the next, cringing and angry not long after. Her style and fashion vision is so wonderful and I love how she always created characters that gut me in the best way possible. It’s so interesting to see how she weaves in these heartbreaking, horrifically raw moments that really made me think about human relationships and their messy nature and the concept of redemption.
