This book is extraordinary. It's a celebration of libraries as institutions that support and bind communities and ideas. It's a tribute to librarians and all who love reading and literature as well as the fire fighters and emergency responders of all stripes who come together to salvage an iconic building and the resources it housed. It's quirky and unpredictable, copiously researched and lusciously written.
