I know a few people who love Doctor Who but I've never really known what it's all about. I even googled: 'basic premise of doctor who' and came up with something like 'Doctor Who is an alien in the shape of a man from earth, and with his sidekick he travels to different times and places and basically walks around until he finds some sort of trouble to get out of.'

There's also something about a 'tardis', a 'sonic screwdriver' and for some reason he says 'allons-y' all the time in this one. I had to look that up, too. Now I'm fluent in French.
