Well this is the first book I’ve finished in one go in awhile!
We meet Shelley as she’s waking up in the hospital with no memory of why. The next time she awakes she remembers the why, David, her husband, but can’t remember much else.
We learn of Shelley’s childhood and adult life through a series of flashbacks as she struggles to regain her memory.
Her childhood with her mom and granny was great until her mom met a guy Shelley knew wasn’t good. And he wasn’t. Then Shelley grew up, left, and met her own guy who wasn’t good.
I love how we learn her story with her and it’s just as frustrating and confusing for us as it is for her until everything snaps into place.
CW: domestic abuse
