I remember really enjoying Ally Condie’s YA so I was really excited to read this, especially after all the hype, but this one ended up being just okay for me.
I really liked the premise, Agatha Christie meets the White Lotus was a great way to sell it. The setting was brilliant, the mystery set up was good, but the resolution was very meh. I also didn’t love the main characters backstory, I didn’t feel it added anything to the story and it was just a distracting sad tale that kept distracting from the main narrative.
A great airport book, but if that’s not what you’re after, I’d give this one a miss.
