Books set in WW2/the Holocaust are always hard to read, especially the ones written in such a way that you can picture yourself walking alongside the characters in their struggles. This story was no exception.

Despite the many difficult topics touched on in this book, the characters were so endearing. There was a lot of depth to them and their experiences. Their strength in the face of unimaginable hardship was admirable, and there are many rich lessons to be learned here about resilience, friendship, and unconditional love.
