This book is quiet and delicate, especially when compared to the movie. It also portrays nature in an almost reverent way. Really beautiful and eerie.

I found the voice of the narrator to be an interesting take. She was refreshing to read.

Also, her relationship with her husband was sweet, especially in the way the husband wrote to her in his journal and the way she understood him. I loved that she ended by following his path, to be closer to him.
