I’d like to say it’s a little less than Where Dreams Descend for me. It lacked a little of the glitz and glamour of the first book. I think that has a lot to do with Janella’s headspace in writing as she mentions in her Acknowledgments.
That being said, I loves the direction the story went and the new characters we got to meet. I’d love to see a spin off with the Diamond Rings after this story. I am very satisfied with how the story ended.
/SPOILER/ One thing I wanted that we didn’t get was a final performance description from Kallia. It’s the main thing I missed from WDD. But I can understand the choice for ending it before the actual performance.
This is a solid Duology that would make a wonderful set of movies! Fingers crossed!
