Starve Acre, Andrew Michael Hurley ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ewan is gone, and his parents grapple with grief within the pages of this novel. The story is strong with emotion and it develops so well throughout, the gentle building of Ewan's memories and the easing into lore is perfectly done.

The use of seasons is really excellent, there are some beautifully written sections and also some really fucking gritty descriptions. It's creepy but really digestible, and excellent reflection on grief and love.

Also the ending is bloody mad. I will be thinking about this for some time 🐇🐇🐇
