The Rings of Saturn by W.G. Sebald

5.0

r/LiminalSpace as a book.

Rings of Saturn is centered on a walking tour of East Anglia via decaying seaside industrial towns and resorts, old country estates, and other sundry objects and people that have fallen from grace. Sebald also connects his local observations with stories around the world touching upon sericulture, the genocide in Congo, Rembrandt's 'The Anatomy Lesson', among other things. This was a strange book and a tiny bit unsettling, but I really loved it!
