Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child by Bob Spitz

4.0

An unabashed love letter, [b:Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child|13531538|Dearie The Remarkable Life of Julia Child|Bob Spitz|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1344371053s/13531538.jpg|19093212] chronicles the life and times of Julia Child. The book covers her childhood through her death and shows her transformation into an American icon. While there was an incredible amount of detail in the book, I found her life story fascinating and felt like her personality came through loud and clear. She clearly lived her life with the same gusto and enthusiasm she displayed in the kitchen. The author adored his subject and made the reader feel equally enamored of Julia Child. Her passion practically bubbled off of the pages and made you wish you'd had a chance to meet her. I enjoyed learning about her early life, her life overseas with Paul, and how she became a pioneer for tv cooking shows. For anyone who ever watched her on tv or is a fan of current food-related shows, this is one you'll want to check out. Bon appétit!
