Lucid Dreaming by Cassandra Page

4.0

The first thing that drew me to this book was actually the synopsis. It sounded exactly like something I wanted to read. I was thrown a bit by the cover, though. Definitely a beautiful cover, but it gave me the impression that the story would be a bit lighter… fluffier… The story actually had a fairly dark shadow cast over it, and I absolutely love it that way! It’s not a book for the youngest readers, with minimal swearing and a couple sex scenes. It’s not overly mature either, placing it firmly in the New Adult category.

I find that I’m often impressed by the talent coming out of Australia. There are some seriously talented authors down there, and Cassandra Page just solidified my opinion (Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure they’re not ALL winners, but I have yet to find out I didn’t like). There was, of course, some Down Under lingo, which I was cool with. I even learned a few words I had never heard before. Like, “doona”, which is apparently slang for duvet or quilt. I feel more worldly already!
