Knowing that by now Christie was dictating a lot of her work helps understanding why the book meanders. I love Tuppence and I think Christie did. They grow up and along with her and there is some insight about aging that you don't realize when you read it as a teenager. It's not a great masterpiece and I don't care one bit about the jewel heist but I really liked it nonetheless.
