This story follows Rosie, who has become too comfortable in her life and realizes—on her wedding day—that she can’t marry the man her family chose just to keep them happy. So, she sets off to escape and start fresh. But what happens when she meets Byron, who’s only in town to set up his new billionaire club—not to take a walk down memory lane in his hometown?
I really loved this small-town romance, and the audiobook narration was brilliant—it truly enhanced the reading experience! The MMC, Byron, made something of himself in New York but returns to his hometown to build a luxurious club. He wasn’t planning on staying, but he found a reason to call it home again. I really liked Byron as a character, and I was swooning over how he acted with Rosie.
Rosie is the jilted bride trying to rediscover herself without her family’s influence. She wants to make her own choices, rather than having them made for her. I loved her character and how she developed throughout the story. The dynamic between the main characters made this read really enjoyable.
I’m looking forward to the rest of the series, as I assume it will follow Byron’s best friends.
