Left on Tenth: A Second Chance at Life: A Memoir
by Delia Ephron
emotional
hopeful
inspiring
medium-paced
This book was so beautiful! From the screenwriter of my favourite movie, You’ve Got Mail, comes a story full of love and grief and sickness and sadness. Capturing the full breath of the human experience in such a beautiful and well written way. The journey Delia went on with losing her husband and sister and her own battle with cancer is equally tragic and inspiring. This is such a little thing that I think perfectly captured Delia’s essence as a writer and perspective on life - but without fail she would always write “she or he” or “her or him” instead of “he or she” and it got me every time and I love that she made the effort to challenge that subtle sexist language.
This book has inspired me to register to become a stem cell donor and I will implore others to do the same. I really really loved this book and I highly recommend for all!
