It was very difficult to read, but worth it. It gives a good insight into how grooming works and is frustrating to the reader since we know exactly what is happening. I wouldn't recommend it to victims of sexual violence since it could be triggering. I liked Vanessa, and the book didn't romanticise her relationship to Strane though I wish we saw more of her healing process in the end. The writing was good but nothing special.
