King of Patriam was not what I expected and wanted it to be.
The whole trial plot felt underwhelming because it didn’t last as long as I thought it would. The villain who was supposed to be this powerful Queen that couldn’t be destroyed easily was killed pretty easily in my opinion.
The plot twist was really good; probably one of my favourite things in the book. Cassian and Salem are still superior but Devin and Emori also stole my heart (Devin practically carried the whole series at this point). The thing with Cade and Deianira still stands, even more with this book than before.
Then, the ending. It was so confusing, I’m still not sure if I got it right or not and I’ve reread it like three times now. Overall, I wanted more from this - not in length, this was big enough as it was like twice the size of the other two books but in plot. I’m kind of disappointed with this.
