I really liked the relationship between the young lad and the old man at the beginning of the book. It was something that I found really wholesome and heartwarming and it really made me invested into the story.
I wish the young boy would go fishing with the old man. Their dynamic was just so interesting that I would have loved to read more dialogue between the two of them and see some character development (also wouldn’t mind if the book was bit longer due to that), but I also understand why he didn’t come along. The reason was also explained in the story which I really appreciated.
Overall it was a really nice and simple story that I enjoyed. I was a bit skeptical at first and I thought it was going to be really boring but then it turned out amazing. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good classic.
