A Hero of Our Time by Mikhail Lermontov

4.0

Pechorin is an extremely interesting character (albeit if he was a real person, unsavory). Lermontov’s use of different narrators and a non-chronological plot made this novel very unique as well. However, Lermontov’s descriptions of the Caucasian people diminishes them down to simple savages, and women are objects in a game of superiority.
