3.5 stars. This series overall was just kinda meh. In this book I was more interested and entertained throughout the first two thirds of it...but that ending....like, why so rushed? Kinda spoiled (pun lol) the whole thing for me.
I think there was more potential in the series than was realized. Cool concepts and ideas, but a lot of flat characters and a lack of tension in a story where humanity itself is being threatened. As the reader I should be feeling the gravity of that and it just didn't happen very often.
An extra half star for this one simply because i found it more engaging (slightly) than books one and two, at least up until the last 75 pages or so.
