Enjoyed reading poems by these talented women. It's got me wanting to read more firsthand accounts of incarceration in general, which is always a good thing! It's got me also thinking about just how many women behind bars are survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and ones that have substance use issues. I hope they are getting what they need (and that the prison industrial complex dies, tbh!)

There were some more problematic illusions to things like r*pe and homophobia expressed in one or two poems, but I don't fault anyone for that necessarily. Just a note for queer/trans/survivor readers (like me!), but I still recommend this read.
