I loved the first season of the anime. This story is so sweet, and the emotional arc is delightful. Frieren is a elf, and has lived a very long time, and will continue to live for a long time more. After the completion of a 10 year long adventure,  she leaves her companions to spend some time alone. When she returns 50 years later, she is surprised at how well her friends still know her, and at how little she knew them. This is the story of a girl trying to reconnect with her past as she journey's on with new friends, whose lives will be just as short as her previous companions.
