Poison for Breakfast by Lemony Snicket
3.0

There are so many different ways I felt throughout reading this book. The most profound one was feelings of deep contemplation.

This is a book of philosophy, diving into reality and the human experience. This book is meant to feel confusing to read, to give the reader a sense of the bewilderment that the main character experiences. Whenever i would feel like I was losing track with the book the author pulled me back to the ground with a philosophical concept. I found myself stopping at the end of every chapter and asking myself: What is the actual point trying to be made? That may sound like a dig, when in reality it is a thought that few books (good and bad) push the reader to think about naturally.

Good book, and for some reason I found myself only reading a chapter or two at a time. In my opinion that is how this book should be read. It doesn’t consume the reader, instead it pushed the reader into a contemplative state deep within themselves.
