Greywaren by Maggie Stiefvater
4.0

I really wanted to love this and instead I slogged through it. It felt very cerebral, talking about thought and dream and reality but being all vibe and no plot for the beginning of the book. Ronan was sidelined and the only interesting bits were the reveals about Greywaren, Neil and Aurora and their relationship, and who the big bad was. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Ronan and Adam, but there was very little Adam in the book. It was very focused on the creation of sweetmetals and not enough on Declan and Jordan’s relationship. Matthew barely had page time to show how he had grown.
The ending was sweet and rewarding payoff, as was the epilogue, but I was more happy to see Gansey and Blue than anything.
I appreciate this addition to the Raven Boys universe, but I don’t think I’ll ever re-read this trilogy. It just wasn’t my favorite.
The audiobook was great, but the repetition was really tough for any actor. I thought my audiobook got stuck for the many repetitions of ‘am I awake or am I dreaming.’
