House of Roots and Ruin by Erin A. Craig

3.0

House of Roots and Ruin is the second book of the Sisters of the Salt, after the House of Salt and Sorrows. And, as many other users have stated, this one is better than the first one.

Truly, one doesn't need to have read the first book to understand this one, as the author gives enough of information about the sisters and their backstories. Also, this one doesn't follow the same story as the first one, even though there are some common elements.

The story, moreover, is enjoyable, dark, and creepy at times. The romance was quite fresh, with some elements that exceed the Young Adult genre, but were an interesting view on how young girls see love and sexuality.

Also, that ending left a lot of room for a sequel.
