Heirs of Power by Kay MacLeod

4.0

Heirs of Power was a pretty interesting book. It hooks you right from the beginning and drags you through the entire adventure.

First, the book started off great for me but then it did get a little slow right after. Maybe it's just because we were just getting to know Kitty Fairlow, who is the MC, and her whole life story before her adventure begins.. but yeah, I have no idea!

Well about Kitty, hmmm.. well she has a fiance name Luke and they are planning their wedding. Well, at least they were until Kitty had to go run an errand.. that turned into an adventure for her father. From this little errand to the princess, Kitty finds out that she isn't some normal girl who is about to get married. No, she actually belongs to a special and very secretive group of people - oh, and she basically needs to prepare for this epic battle that's about to go down.

Now I loved the writing - love it! I just wish this book didn't have boring parts in it.. but sadly not every book is perfect. I did really enjoy getting to know the characters in this book. My favorite was probably Asher because he could sometimes make me swoon. I honestly loved Kitty's friendship with him because they are both really caring and loyal people. Also super jealous that Kitty is a skilled hunter.. I could probably catch myself in a trap that I set.. because I lack a shit ton of hunting skills. She also kind of reminds me of Katniss - which hey, I didn't mind at all.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. I seriously can't wait for the second book to come out.. and if it is already out.. well then I can't wait to dive into that book! BRING IT ON!
