Maybe it’s because I don’t read much or connect to YA characters like I used to, because this was not it for me.
The two lovey characters started out REALLY disliking each other, and for what? Our hero was sort of rude to Lila from the get go, and then on and off again throughout the book. Why? We don’t know. They go from disliking each other to automatic almost love. Maybe if I would have felt some sort of connection, but honestly these characters were not a good fit IMO.
The “oh krampus” stuff, she’s 18 not 10. It’s ok to say the word shit.
Again, maybe I’m just not into YA romances anymore because this was a waste of time IMO.
(I listened to this via audio and also disliked the narrator. She was too bland. Made the mother sound like she had a sore throat. Idk. Not into it.)
