Yellow Dirt: An American Story of a Poisoned Land and a People Betrayed by Judy Pasternak

3.0

I don't know if I'll ever enjoy nonfiction. However, this was very informative. My main takeaway was how ineffective the government is with giving money to citizens, but how happy the government is to give money to companies. Especially during wars, and we're basically always in a war at this point.

Also I'm shocked that in the early 2000s (until at least 2010) the government didn't think (or didn't want to take responsibility for) high, consistent doses of radiation and heavy metals caused cancer and other health issues? Like even if there weren't scientists going into the Navajo reservation, I thought that was proven.
