The Bridge of San Luis Rey by Thornton Wilder
3.0

The Bridge of San Luis Rey won the Pulitzer in 1928 and still receives high ratings here on goodreads, but it just wasn't my cup of tea. Or maybe I simply read it at the wrong time, between two other masterpieces - The Bell Jar and The Grapes of Wrath. Compared to these two books, The Bridge of San Luis Rey left me cold. The message of this story is beautiful but I wasn't a fan of the writing style, or the characters.
