What a ride. The continued discrimination against Drizzt for his heritage is frustrating, but believable and necessary. The addition of Belwar is a great one, the very first loyal friend to ever see beyond the color of Drizzt’s skin.
It’s tough to meet Clacker and watch his struggle against his degenerative transformation from pech to hook horror. But that’s a testament to the author’s skill - he doesn’t need many pages to get you to love poor Clacker.
Long live Zaknafein. “For us!” I got chills and I cried all over again. No matter how many more books I read I will never stop loving him.
Lastly, I forgot you meet Jarlaxle this early. From my limited knowledge of future books, boy does he come a long way. Can’t wait to refresh my own memory.
Solid addition to the series. I will miss Belwar more than I can say!
