New Orleans Rush

medium-paced
3.5 - it was okay. I really liked her writing, and I liked the characters. I had a few issues with some of it but overall it was a good read and I would be likely to read more by this author.
It actually started really strong and for the first half of the book I was really into Bea and Huxley. I liked that they communicated pretty well with each other. I thought his Poker side job would be a secret until the end and then cause all kinds of drama, which I HATE... but it was confronted early and while it was, predictably, a key barrier to them being together, it was handled in a much better and more believable way than I expected.
My problem was that around the halfway mark I kind of start to get a bit frustrated with them... overall though, this was a good read and I like the author's style.
