Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.

The way it was written feels like the author was trying to meet a word count and also shoehorning explanations to make things make sense. Like how Tallie just so happened to have clothes that fit Emmett from her ex husband that she never threw away/donated even though it’s been a year.

Inviting him to her home and letting him stay. The lying. Emmett sending that email made me immediately dislike him, like why would someone do that? Same thing with Tallie stealing and reading his notes. I’ve read reviews that said it makes sense at the end and there’s a twist, but the writing was too annoying for me to even try to push through for it.
