Crow Moon by K.O. Newman, Mariah Thayer

3.0

If I could title this review it would be “underdeveloped potential.”

The premise and blurb of Crow Moon sound fun and creative. I mean biker witches with a hot romance, what more can you ask for? Plot and character development, that’s what.

I really wish that the plot, characters and worldbuilding were further developed (why don’t we learn anything about the magic system??). The book is built on good bones and could just use some expansion.

Aside from the above, we need to take a moment to talk about the dialogue. It is not good. The dialogue in Crow Moon reads like a parody mash up of Supernatural and Sons of Anarchy. Instead of what I assume was supposed to be biker vernacular, it was as if I was reading caricatures of a biker gang. I’m all for occasional slang, but this was so ridiculous that I couldn’t take the dialogue seriously.
