Very good premise, solidly good execution. The main characters were a little flat. The pacing of the book was breakneck which was great, but I easily could see this book being twice as long. Three times, even. The ending, too, felt extremely abrupt.
Call me messed up, but I wish she would’ve went with the darker ending. It would’ve been bold, ballsy, And incredibly emotional. As it is, I do like it in theory but, as with the book as a whole, the execution could be better. There’s a pretty huge change right at the end and, even though I can use context clues and GUESS what might’ve sparked the change, the author didn’t really make anything clear.
Overall, a pleasant read.
