I am truly disappointed by this book.
First of all, Gilmore Girls should not be included in the description. The only similarity is that the book is set in a small town. And Gilmore Girls was one of the main reasons I wanted to read the book in the first place, so that really sucks.
Second, I thought this was going to be a cute, little witchy romance. Instead it was super dark and depressing. The content warning at the beginning should be mentioned somehow in the description. Speaking of the content warning, it mentions some pretty heavy stuff that I felt like just got blown past in the book.
Also, I felt like there was something missing while I was reading. Like this was the second book in a series and I was missing back story. I don’t know exactly how to explain it, but I was not a fan.
The only reason I’m giving it two stars instead of one is because there was something about the book that kept me reading. Maybe it was just sheet determination to get the book over with.
