The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman

2.0

never ever have I been this bored reading a book before...
- too many pov's
- too many names and characters
^and bcs of this I didn´t care about any of the characters, and I could hardly follow who was who at times.

the fact that I started reading this book in October ´23, and didn't finish until late January ´24 really says something...
and don't get me wrong, it was a quick read (I read it in a couple of days), but I spent 3 months not wanting to pick it up again. the only reason I didn't dnf is bcs it was a buddy read, and my poor friend already finished it in November. (we were both bored).

more things I didn't like:
- all the suicides without a trigger warning... and the fact that some of the characters did it as an easy way out? or at least it seemed like that. (the only person I felt bad for was the girl who was a nun and got pregnant).
- the reveal was so... boring? and also, for me it didn't make sense. several times I thought the reveal was coming, but no, wrong person, again.
- all the characters are so indifferent to murders, suicides and everything that happens.
- they are all very annoying aswell. wish I got to know Donna (the police) a bit better. but because of all the different pov's that isn't possible.
- it's so fucking slow. I had to read 50% of the book before anything of interest to the plot happened.

I bought the second book a while ago, but I will be giving it away as a see no reason why I should continue with this series. don't know what all the hype was about.
