Still Lives by Maria Hummel

3.0

A mystery set in an LA art gallery, one of the best things about the book is the sense of place, the LA we don’t get from Hollywood.

I also liked the story - a familiar murder mystery story arc with some interesting twists. None so shocking that you probably haven’t figured it out by the time it is revealed.

I felt the story lost its way towards the end and could have been more tightly edited throughout. Good pool or aircraft read, or anywhere you don’t want to have to concentrate too hard.
